Install File Optimizer for free. On the app home screen you’ll select your theme, then it will show you what files can be optimized + the estimated savings. You can minify 1 file for free to test it out. If you think “hey this is cool”, you can upgrade to the paid version (a 1 time fee to use the app forever) and continue minifying the rest of your files.

Most likely one of your files had a coding syntax error. If this happens, revert the minification (click the Revert button), then contact us and we’ll investigate your theme to see what’s the problem.

File minification is a performance optimization technique to make files smaller. Writing code is like writing an article – there are sections, different components, and different languages. We humans 👨‍💻 write code that is readable to ourselves and other humans, but machines 🤖 don’t need that structure so to save space you can minify a file by removing all the spaces and extra characters, shorten variables (words), and rearrange the code to contain the least amount of characters necessary.
